Peng Ye used femtosecond laser with orbitalangular momentum (OAM) to shine the Synthetic Antiferromagnetic Multilayers (SAF).The aim is to induce nucleation of the Skyrmion on SAF by electric-magneticvortex field instead of heating. This will bring us the ability to control theSkyrmion optically. Peng is studying how to structure the laser beam spatiallyand utilize the structured beam to research on strong field interaction betweenultrafast laser pulse and materials.
